Purpose: 

 

Restoration Through Individual, Family and Community Empowerment

 

 

Goal:

 

To establish a community based empowerment and restoration center in order to develop and deploy educational, recreational, health-care and collaborative social service resources to economically disadvanted individuals and families including, but not limited to academic and computer training, life skills, essential job skills, adult and family literacy programs.

under the leadership of Dr. Ivory L. Varner

 

 

OnePowerfulMovement was created to impact this community, neighboring communities, the city and beyond through educational, entrepreneurial and economic revitalization.

 

 

In September 2008,  many families along the Gulf Coast were devastated by Hurricane Ike.  Houston-Galveston Area Council provided funding to provide social services for individual and families impacted by the storm.  The OneSource New Life Center began operating as a Social Service Support Center providing an array of services to impacted families.
